Valedictorian Darlene A. Centina led High School Class of 2013 during the 67th Commencement Exercises held March 22 at the University Gymnasium. Ana Raphaela Villaruz is the class Salutatorian. Centina was also the recipient of UNO-R Award of Excellence; Excellence in Science and in Mathematics; Literary Achievements in Writing; IWAG Award; DIWA Excellence Award; Batang Henyo sa Genyo Award; REAP Award of Excellence and the Augustinian Educational Eagle Award. Meanwhile, First Honors Gretel Faith Haro, daughter of Dr. Elmer Haro, led the Grade 6 pupils during their Commencement Exercises held March 21 at the Oratory of St. Nicholas of Tolentino. Haro is also the recipient of the Perfect Attendance; St. Augustine Award; Best in Conduct; Best in Grooming; best in Extra-curricular; Best in Literary; Best in Math; and the DIWA Excellence Award. The Green Heart Hermitage Earth Chapel celebrated its 1st year anniversary on the Feast of St. Joseph, the spouse of Mary, March 19. Rev. Fr. Abraham Latoza, OAR celebrated the Thanksgiving Mass with students and administrators and Green Heart Founder, Bro. Tagoy Jakosalem, OAR. The celebration was highlighted by the burial of the “decades-old fetus” from the BIOSCI Laboratory. This is to give respect to the souls of the unborn fetus, who were used for medical and scientific purposes.

Cardinal Jorge
Mario Bergoglio, S.J., Archbishop of Buenos Aires, Argentina,
Ordinary for Eastern-rite faithful in Argentina who lack an
Ordinary of their own rite, was born on 17 December 1936 in Buenos
Aires. He studied as and holds a degree as a chemical technician,
but then chose the priesthood and entered the seminary of Villa
Devoto. On 11 March 1958 he moved to the novitiate of the Company
of Jesus where he finished studies in the humanities in Chile. In
1963, on returning to Buenos Aires, he obtained a degree in
philosophy at the St. Joseph major seminary of San
Miguel.
