The Film Appreciation (FILAPP) class of the English and Mass Communication Department had their film viewing activity at the Corporate Hall, Feb. 28. Four films from four different groups were viewed by some UNO-Rians as well as the visitors from outside the university. The films were entitled Lovenotes (Inspirational), Just Once (Horror), Timalos (Suspense) and In Another Lifetime (Love Story). These films were the final output of the Mass Communication Students in the said course with Dean Nieves Hibaler – Pepito as their adviser.

The University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos celebrated its
16th Solidarity Day with the theme “Pamatan-ong
Rekoleto: Magtubo kay Kristo, Ibantala ang Pagtu-o”. The
said activity aimed to foster unity and friendship among the
members of the UNO-R community in fellowship and in the Eucharist.
It was an overnight event to celebrate meaningfully and fruitfully
the spirit of the Year of Faith and Recollect Centenary which
started March 1, 5:30 p.m. and ended 5:30 a.m. the next day.
Two thousand participants attended this religious youth

The Orange Tigers from the College of Engineering (COE) won as the champion in the Cheer Dance Competition held at the UNO-R Amphitheater, February 18. The Blue Phoenix from the College of education (COEd) was the 1st runner-up. The Green Eagle from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) was the 2ND runner-up. The Gold Griffin from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) was the 3rd runner-up. A showdown was also bested by the two representatives from each competing group. The performers from the COEd won. The cheer dance competition was still part of the UNO-R Sports fest 2013. It was organized by the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Supreme Student Government (UNORSSGO).

VATICAN CITY, March 14, 2013–Pope Francis began his first words
to the Church by saying that the cardinals “went to the end of the
world” to find the new Bishop of Rome.

“Brothers and Sisters, good evening. You know that the charge of
the conclave was to give a bishop of Rome.

With the theme “Continuous quest for excellence: Ayer,
Hoy,Siempre,” the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos Sports
department in cooperation with (UNORSSGO) is celebrating the
university-wide sportsfest 2013 from February 16- 20. The
sportsfest kicked off with a fun-run activity from the Capitol
Lagoon to the UNO-R 1606 Park, February 16. The opening
ceremony followed at the covered court. “There are many
things that we have to learn in life that sports can deliver but we

MassComm days 2013 with the theme “Social Media: Super changing the
youth for tangible change”, February 16. The Opening Ceremony
was highlighted with the photo exhibit of natural pictures with
assigned emotions which shows the social situation of their
